Market Research Manager

Black Rifle Coffee Company is looking to bring on a Market Research Manager.  We are looking for a driven, ambitious individual who wants to create a career in Market Research.  This role will be responsible for fielding surveys and gathering quantitative and qualitative data from primary and secondary sources to provide reports, actionable insights and recommendations to the Marketing, Ecommerce, Product and Executive teams.


  • Build market research capability for the company from scratch
  • Manage key vendor relationships and identify software tools needed to build the practice
  • Interact with company executives on key business initiatives, enabling market research-based decisions. 
  • Collect primary and secondary research on consumer coffee preferences.  Size the market for current products and new opportunities.  Monitor trends and developments in the coffee industry.
  • Help the Marketing teams with creating ads and content that resonate with our customers and prospects according to their coffee and brand preferences
  • Stand up a customer panel, and hold focus groups
  • Conduct surveys in multiple channels, including online, retail stores, convenience stores, telephone
  • Prepare presentations on insights and findings, with a focus on recommended actions to grow and improve the business.  Implement findings across the business.


  • Bachelor’s degree in social sciences or related field.  Master’s degree preferred.
  • 3-10 years of proven experience in a research role required, along with a strong track record of business impact
  • End-to-end management of research studies required.  First-hand experience in all aspects of survey design and data analyses.
  • Direct experience with advanced methodologies and ability to identify the best option within each, including conjoint, segmentation, PCA, A/B testing, among others
  • Experience with qualitative techniques (e.g., ethnography, usability testing, shopper/event intercepts) desirable
  • Familiarity with secondary research sources
  • Experience with focus groups is desirable
  • Collaboration skills to work across a wide variety of teams
  • Proficient in creating presentations and reports that are easily understood and actionable.  Ability to distill critical insights from a large amount of survey responses and verbatims, and turn around those readouts very quickly. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills is highly desirable
  • Ability to multi-task and take initiative is critical, as this position will lead survey efforts across departments
  • Have a strong “insights to action” background, with a track record of implementing research findings
