Packaging Associate

THE ROLE

We are looking to add a Coffee Packaging Associate to join coffee roasting team of bright, dedicated people running “100 miles a minute” and getting a lot of work done. The Associate is responsible for grinding coffee and filling/sealing bags while maintaining quality controls. The Packaging Associate assists the team lead with production and packaging operations. 

YOUR TASK

  • Perform the setup and operation of packaging and bagging equipment on designated product lines according to the production schedule
  • Observe equipment operations, monitor standard running conditions and parameters, and perform necessary adjustments to ensure quality and productivity standards
  • Ensure all safety devices and guards are fully operational and that safety procedures are being observed
  • Ensure all production complies with quality and food safety standards
  • Follow all food safety requirements, rules, and standards
  • Clean and sanitize equipment in accordance to food safety standards
  • Ensure that regular and preventative maintenance procedures are carried out
  • Assist with changeovers properly and efficiently
  • Perform safety checks on every machine prior to and during runtime
  • Ensure that machines are producing quality products by managing periodic checks on output
  • Ensure that sufficient material is available to meet the production quota and scheduled run
  • Setup operational parameters (run speed, quantity, shapes, and sizes) on machine terminals or controls
  • Create and maintain activity/job logs as required
  • Record all production performance, counts, downtime and other quality or production related information as required
  • Meet specified production performance targets of quality, output, cost and waste reduction
  • Ensure packaging integrity and appearance
  • Uphold company values
  • Participate in production process improvement efforts

YOUR EXPERIENCE

  • High school education or equivalent
  • Food handler certification desired
  • Previous packaging machine experience helpful
  • Ability to safely lift, push, pull up to 50 lbs.
  • Experience using a forklift preferred
  • US Military Veteran a plus
